Voice Activation Workshops with Kat
Rewilding the voice with Shamanic Vocal Improvisation…
I am particularly passionate about helping others to find and rewild their voice, holding space and designing experiences to make singing safe, primal and fun again.

What is Somatic Voice Activation?
Somatic voice activation is the art of exploring, finding and opening up our true voice, using powerful mind-body practices to work through layers of blocks, unlock our authentic self-expression and nurture our unique potential.
Everyone has a voice,
And your voice is your sacred power...
Our voice is our gateway to:
Connect and reconnect to yourself, others and the divine
To access flow state, channelling your intuition and creativity
To create, express and inspire through your singing and spoken words
To transmute emotional wounds into wellbeing
To carry your prayers, casting the magic of your attention and intention
To communicate your truth, desires and boundaries
To foster presence and confidence
To share your unique and much needed gifts into the world, whether through art or ideas.
Everyone has a voice,
But to what degree do we have access to its potential?
How many layers of psychological, emotional and societal blocks have we accumulated?
How much fear-based conditioning and limiting beliefs do we operate within?
How convinced have we become, that unless we want to be a pop star, we don’t need to work on our voice?
How much have we forgotten how precious our voice is and how badly we need it?
How much freedom did we have to safely play, experiment and explore, uncover and discover, practice and strengthen our unique voice?
To quote Marianne Williamson…
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”
Kat’s approach:
Moving away from singing as performance, with lyrics to remember, notes to hit, and ideals to compare ourselves to, I strive to create space for playful experimentation, primal expression and intuitive channelling, within the safety and support of community.
Merging vocal improvisation singing techniques from around the world and somatic practices with elements of tantra and shamanism, we explore how voice, breath, vibration and visualisation, movement and meditation, rhythm and ritual, attention and intention, sound and silence affect our nervous systems, states of consciousness and the well-being.
Helping us to re-establish a deep sense of safety and confidence as we reclaim our voice, not only as a tool to beautifully sing, speak, improvise and inspire, but as a musical instrument in its own right, beyond the confines of language, and as a mystical gateway to access flow state, tap into our intuition, unleash our creativity, channel insights, transmute our traumas, fostering healing and wellbeing for ourselves and others.
Allowing us to grow the confidence to share our unique gifts with the world, turning our pain into purpose, our mess into our message, and our missing into our mission.
My practice is ever-evolving and deeply informed by my ongoing healing journey from chronic pain and complex trauma, my own musical journey, as well as my experience with shamanic trance states.
Who can benefit from Voice Activation?
Somatic voice activation is for anyone who feels the call to expand the way they use (or don’t use) their voice.
From those who think they can’t sing to seasoned singers who feel limited to familiar ways, and maybe struggle to improvise outside of the structures they have learnt.
From public speakers, actors, artists, entrepreneurs, healers, teachers and coaches who need to overcome stage fright to share their mission, to those who seek the confidence to communicate their truth in their day-to-day life relationships.
From spiritual seekers looking for new ways to connect to Self and Spirit, channel and pray, to neuroscience geeks and biohackers looking to crack the flow state for improved performance.
From trauma survivors looking for a creative outlet to foster wellbeing and help regulate their nervous system, to those simply looking to have fun taking on a new creative pursuit by learning some cool vocal improvisation singing techniques.
If you have a voice, a spirit and a body, you can enjoy the benefits of somatic voice activation practices.

Heart opening, voice opening, beautifully held: I loved the session I did with Kat. She helped us do things we'd never done before, while always feeling safe and nurtured. I couldn't recommend it more for those who want to explore their voices (whether they are"singers" or "not singers" 😊 )
